The Downtown Writer's Center seeks to make literary arts programming accessible to all members of the Syracuse community, regardless of financial situation. That's why our readings are free, and why our course fees are only a fraction of the cost of comparable offerings at colleges and universities. In order to meet these goals, the DWC depends on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations from the Syracuse region and nationwide. We are grateful for the past support of organizations such as the Cultural Resources Council of Onondaga County, Poets & Writers, Inc., and the Lincoln Financial Group Foundation, as well as the current support of the New York State Council on the Arts. If you or your business would like to help support the programs of the DWC, please contact director Philip Memmer. We also are happy to accept donations of books for the Downtown Writer's Center library. And of course, because we are a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations to the YMCA are tax deductible. I hope you'll consider assisting us in our efforts to provide low-cost, high-quality literary arts programs to the Syracuse region! |
